Paris Combo

In France, be french. And nothing better than start by listening to french music. Relaxing and giving room for the imagination to wonder as far as some decades ago, this is simply contagious - for those who like the style. Piano and trompet, battery, guitar and a great voice, here's what these 5 people band, 5 published albums, formed in 1995 have to offer.

Jakovny's MySpace

Hello all!

Here's a link to my new MySpace dedicated to my Balkan Music DJ activities. It's still a bit rough, but hopefully will get better as time goes by. Enjoy if it's due to happen:

Classic is still were the art is

"The European Archive is a digital library of cultural artifacts in digital form. We provide free access to researchers, historians, scholars, and the general public."

British Government movie about public health and the dangers of sneezing.

"The Internet Archive is building a digital library of Internet sites and other cultural artifacts in digital form. Like a paper library, we provide free access to researchers, historians, scholars, and the general public."

And last but not the least ...

"Musopen is an online music library of copyright free music (public domain music). We want to give the world access to music, without the legal hassles so common today. There is a great deal of music that has expired copyrights, but almost no recordings of this music is in the public domain. We aim to record or obtain recordings that have no copyrights so that our visitors may listen, re-use, or in any way enjoy music. Put simply, our mission is to set music free.

And the interpretation of a youthful Maria-João Pires playing the Andante from Mozart's Piano Sonata No. 10 on the Erato label.

The band's name originates from the Nadsat slang in the novel A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, in which it means "milk" (from the Russian word for milk, молоко), actually the name of a milk drink Alex and his "droogs" consume mixed with narcotics.

Notre Dame de Paris

A brief note to register my recent fascination with, guess what, another musical - Notre Dame de Paris.

Even those who don't like musicals can't be indifferent to this one, I've tested it, twice! The voices are great, the feeling in them contagious. Sad and tragic story, to be seen with time and open spirit.

Agnès Bilh - Chanson Française

I've found something new. New because even after being in Paris after 1 year, I had never been to a concert of Chanson Française. And this first time couldn't have been better!...Fulminant lyrics, intelligent criticim and portrait of our society, Agnès has already published 3 brilliant albums and is a great entertainer! Worths listening over and over again, to understand every hidden meaning! :)
